INTERVIEW: Mick Jeffery (AVERSIONS CROWN)

Tiana Speter

Roaring to life in 2010, Brisbane heavies Aversions Crown have gone on to explore every inch of the death metal world, with their sci-fi thematics only surpassed by their muscular riffs and bone-shattering beats that have seen them hit stages at home and beyond flying the flag for techy death metal and innovative heavy music in general.

Armed with a wall of 8-strings, poignant atmospherics and the ferocious delivery of a battering-ram in a Lord of the Rings showdown (in space?!), Aversions Crown have constantly sought to cleave savage tunes that are simultaneously lupine and listenable - and it's on their upcoming fourth studio album Hell Will Come For Us All that the quartet step outside their previous thematic boundaries and instead turn their aggression to more tangible injustices facing the present day.

Marking a significant turning point in the band's journey so far but still with the trademark Aversions Crown flair, Hell Will Come For Us All sets the scene for an exciting new chapter for both the band and the extreme metal genre, and ahead of new release come spend some time with guitarist Mick Jeffery as he chats with Tiana Speter all things new tunes, music memories and bucket list moments. Interview below.

AVERSION CROWN'S BRAND NEW ALBUM HELL WILL COME FOR US ALL IS OUT JUNE 12 VIA NUCLEAR BLAST, WITH PRE-SALES AVAILABLE RIGHT HERE. FOR ALL OTHER AVERSIONS CROWN INFO, HEAD HERE.
