NEW MUSIC ALERT: RedHook Are ON With A New Heavy Banger 'Off With Your Head'

Purveyors of criminally catch (and scathing) earworms, Sydney alt-rock juggernauts RedHook are taking zero prisoners in 2023, announcing a brand new album set for this year, a headline tour, nationwide supports alongside The Smashing Pumpkins - and as if that's not enough, they've dropped a new banger Off With Your Head today too.

Fresh off releasing Soju with Sly Withers, SAY and Jabberwocky previously, Off With Your Head blows the roof off with what is essentially RedHook's heaviest outing to date; and that's saying something. Produced by Stevie Knight (Stand Atlantic, Yours Truly) and mixed by James Paul Wisner (Underoath, Paramore), Off With Your Head will feature on RedHook's upcoming debut album Postcard From A Living Hell, which is slated for release on Friday, April 21.

Off With Your Head' is a crushing, politically-charged rap-metal rave monster powered by venomous lyrics that rage against various types of mob-fuelled injustice, from the conservative war on women's bodies to the dark side of cancel culture.

"I wrote the lyrics to 'Off With Your Head' at a time when I was feeling overwhelmed, appalled, and devastated by a number of horrifying injustices going on in the world around me," shares RedHook vocalist Emmy Mack of the new track. "Over in the US, the overturning of Roe v. Wade robbed women and girls of the fundamental right to make informed decisions about their own bodies, the consequences of which I, along with many others, knew would be deadly and devastating. While in my own backyard, I watched on in horror as cancel culture was weaponised by a sick person with a cruel vendetta to destroy an innocent woman I loved and admired. I felt sick with anger, and powerless to do anything about it, so I poured everything I had into this song."

The song comes packing a dark, fiery, blood-soaked music video directed by Kim Quint (Northlane, Polaris), which features Emmy performing as she's being burned alive at a stake, and the other members of RedHook being decapitated by an executioner.

RedHook are gaining momentum from a meteoric 2022, which saw the band complete their biggest ever national headline tour, as well as a 28-date regional Australian tour as main support for metalcore titans In Hearts Wake. They also made their celebrated return to Australia's Good ThingsFestival, becoming the first band ever to grace the lineup twice, going from Eora/Sydney openers in 2018 to national stage 5 headliners in 2022. The band also made their critically acclaimed debuts at Australia's Groovin the Moo and UNIFY Gathering festivals, and two of the biggest heavy music festivals on the planet, Germany's Rock am Ring and Rock im Park; a feat few Australian bands can claim.

You can pre-order Postcard From A Living Hell here ahead of its release this April, and grab a listen of the new tune below!
