Lovers of throwback hardcore and/or new music in general rejoice: Venice Beach teen punks XCOMM are back in 2026, thrashing and bashing with a killer new track Fake ID.
When your band's drummer, Revel Ian, is the son of Anthrax's own Scott Ian, you know good taste is gonna be on the table. Nepo baby labels be damned in this scenario, XCOMM are tight, loud and rhythmically blessed, weaving nods to Suicidal Tendencies, Slayer, Minor Threat, Fugazi and a heap more into their take on the hardcore punk realms.
Starting life in 2023, XCOMM solidified their lineup in 2024 before putting out their debut EP Westside Punks. And in 2026, their brand new single Fake ID not only showcases why the band have been getting so much buzz and some incredible shows along the way; it also features them teaming up with Ross Robinson; yes that Ross Robinson, aka the guy who brought Korn, Limp Bizkit and pretty much most of the nu metal heavyweights into the. limelight. And the end result is a true love letter to genuine punk through a subtle modern lens. Raw, riotous and very much primed to tickle the fancy of even the most jaded long-term punk fanatic.
"Fake ID rips! It’s about getting rejected from shows for being under 21 when all you want to do is check out a band. The video shoot was amazing — it was so funny to walk around town dressed as grandmas for a day. I thought we looked great and I love how the video concludes with us walking into the ocean…” - Michael Gatto, vocals
Most recently opening for Foo Fighters at their charity concert in Los Angeles (an event that also doubled as Dave Grohl's birthday party), the band will next take over L.A.'s Oblivion on February 6.
