SINGLE: How Was I Supposed To Know ARTIST: The VANNS
Charm and charisma aren't generally words one would associate with a relationship breakdown, but Wollongong rockers The VANNS bring a midas touch to the break up trope with their cranking new track 'How Was I Supposed To Know'.
The first blip of new music since last year's EP 'The Hand That Picks The Fight', 'How Was I Supposed To Know' commandingly leaps and bounds over wailing guitars and sturdy rhythms, floating frontman Jimmy Vann's silky vocals calmly across the driving textures below. And while technically documenting the frustration and emotional chaos that comes with relationship mishaps, there's a powerful sense of triumph continually unfurling, and yet again proves why this quartet continue to dominate with their glossy brand of indie rock.
Having already kicked off their run of shows to celebrate their new baby, there's a few more chances to catch The VANNS lads in action over the next few weeks, plus you can also check out their brand new clip for 'How Was I Supposed To Know' which perfectly captures the essence of their narrative while also featuring the boys cutting sick in between a dramatic dinner date.
