SINGLE REVIEW: Invisible Enemy (AUGUST BURNS RED)

Tiana Speter

SINGLE: Invisible Enemy ARTIST: August Burns Red Hold onto your ears and get ready to rumble – American juggernauts August Burns Red are back after their mammoth 2015 album ‘Found In Far Away Places’ (complete with Grammy-nominated single ‘Identity’), and the metalcore quintet are rupturing speakers every which way with brand new track ‘Invisible Enemy’.

Marking the first sign of new music from the band's forthcoming eighth studio album 'Phantom Anthem', 'Invisible Enemy' is a tantalising barrage of fiery hooks, intricate riffs and, of course, explosive vocals from Jake Luhrs. And while overall the track lives up to their strengths, it's also a reminder why these boys from Pennsylvania have stayed solidly near the top of the heavy scene for so long - behind the wall of sound and gutteral tones are some jaw-dropping song-writing and technique that makes them equal parts epic and accessible.

Despite already showing the world that they can kick ass better than most, this is not a band to rest on their laurels - in fact when the time came to record 'Phantom Anthem', they worked tirelessly to augment and amplify their signature style, and if 'Invisible Enemy' is any indication, the new album is likely to be next level spectacular.

Of course, it wouldn't be an August Burns Red extravaganza without a memorable vid - and the accompanying clip for 'Invisible Enemy' is probably their most iconic yet, featuring 3D marionette versions of themselves busting out, with each member's wardrobe and instrument painstakingly recreated. Check out the video below:

'Phantom Anthem' will be released on October 6th and can be pre-ordered here, with single "Invisible Enemy" as the instant grat track available now. For more info head to https://caroline.lnk.to/PhantomAnthem.
