SINGLE REVIEW: Rainwater (DOS BOY)

SINGLE: Rainwater ARTIST: Dos Boy In what may be prophecy or pure coincidence, there's been a heap of rain kicking around lately, and Melbourne rapper Dos Boy may be the catalyst with brand new single 'Rainwater'.

It's not the first time this year we've heard from this young artist, already landing some fresh tunes over the past few months in the form of singles 'Jiggy Jiggy' and the hook-tastic 'Run With It'. And while these earlier tracks have packed some conceptual punches, this latest offering shows a more upbeat side to Dos Boy's repertoire - with just a whiff of Kendrick's 'Swimming Pools', the pumped up beats and raspy flow are firing hard again on 'Rainwater', but the addition of some glitching metallic synths and rolling chorus whips this tune up from catchy number to bonafide summer jam. Whatever happens next for this breakout rapper, Dos Boy has proven once again his flair for organically mixing story-telling with dynamic production - and the result is a whole lotta fun.
