NEW SINGLE REVIEW: Take Heart (VIERA MOTEL)

SINGLE: Take Heart // ARTIST: Viera Motel

Today come check-in to a world of lucidity and lustre as barrelling nostalgia takes on a dark and distinctively polished form with the debut track 'Take Heart' from Melb indie pop-rockers Viera Motel.

Bridging 90s Eurodance with new-wave synths and Britpop vocals, 'Take Heart' seats Melbourne quartet Viera Motel comfortably in their own contemporary bubble of retro charm; floating somewhere in-between Joy Division, Oasis and The Killers, Viera Motel have come out swinging on their debut single, and it's a glowing end result that awaits.

From the lush pads to the driving beats and pianos, 'Take Heart' builds into a steady, glistening cosmos that hauntingly self-reflects and rouses in freshly familiar fashion, with frontman Jay Pollock gliding over the dense instrumentation narrating the introspective search for dormant strength and courage.

Teaming up with Melbourne producer Malcolm Besley (Northeast Party House, City Calm Down, Client Liaison), Viera Motel have captured an invigorating slice of indie delight on their debut outing, and here's hoping there's more glossy goodness to come soon from this compelling bunch in the near future.
