If you've ever wondered what it'd sound like if a suave skeleton played banjo in a spooky barnyard, fear not because rumbling Brissie alt-country kids The Long Johns not only have the answer - they've also got a brand new music video to boot!
Featuring everything from a sousaphone to pots and pans, The Long Johns (Sian Evans, Steve Buchanan, Skritch and Paul Watson) bring a quirky combo of spooky country and engrossing bluegrass into their captivating tunes - a fact that saw them land onstage at Woodford Folk Festival after only five previous performances in 2016, plus a debut EP that same year.
Flash forward to 2018 and this pack of old-timey cats have just recently graced the stage at BIGSOUND and the Caloundra Music Festival, with a few more cheeky shows on the near horizon. But in between sharing their vibes with the world onstage, The Long johns have just recently also unleashed a brand new clip for 'Hound Dog', the first sign of new music since their 2016 EP 'Last Man Standing' - and it's a howling good time.
A stomping little ditty that legitimately earns the title of banger with its pounding rhthmics that will have you banging into your downstairs neighbour's floorboards, the accompanying clip for 'Hound Dog' is equally biting with The Long John's very own Stevie B as a lupine barista who inevitably succumbs to his full moon transformation, courtesy of makeup extraordinaire Madison Visser.
So why not kick your day off with a bang - bust out your boots and some bootleg moonshine and go get your ears and eyes amongst this spicy track before the next full moon rolls around. Full clip for 'Hound Dog' plus more info below!
