Brisbane rockers He Danced Ivy may be many things; theatrical, loud and cheeky as hell. But one thing they most definitely are not is boring, and their brand new clip for the boisterous tune 'New Stain' is further proof of their enduring sonic mischief and commanding energy (and affinity for traffic cones).
Ahead of the release of their new EP 'Optimistic Cynic' next Friday 23rd November, the He Danced Ivy gents have bellowed into the latter-half of 2018 with singles including 'Guillotines' and 'Spitting On Infinity' cementing their evolution since their debut album 'The Verbal Kind' in 2016.
Boasting the unique trademarks of twisted prog and complex punk, 'New Stain' unfurls lush and layered vocals over melodramatic hooks and amiable ferocity, aptly capturing the group's own personal chaos they experienced after making the move from Coffs Harbour to Brisvegas, as bassist Mitch Hart explains: "We really wanted to deliver the feeling of chaos that we felt during the move, holding tight to that manic energy and seeing where it takes us...The feeling that we're so close to falling apart, but so close to being okay too."
If you're a fan of glam prog and vehicular mayhem, then get your ears and eyes around the new clip for 'New Stain' below before the He Danced Ivy madness continues with the EP release next week.
