We have to wait until April to get our hands on their debut album 'Darkness Is My Home', but to make the wait just that little bit easier dynamic Melbourne rockers The Ugly Kings have gifted us with a brand new music video for lead single 'Promised Land' - and it's a crackerjack of cinematic landscapes and religious effigies.
Spouting dirty blues and lyrics like "Don't show me the way to the Promised Land if you can be bought", the clip is a perfect visual accompaniment with its vivid depiction of corrupt organised religion set against desolate landscapes. And while it's a visually stunning clip that could lend itself in a heartbeat to the opening credits of some sultry Western HBO series, leering behind the shiny visuals is a track that inherently brandishes the group's confident self-possession of their "power blues" sound; dynamic stomping and emotive romping that evokes the heart of modern rock with a classic rock and roll soul.
Already kicking off 2018 in style after being hand-picked by Papa Roach to open for them in Melbourne, it's cleqarly going to be a huge year for The Ugly Kings - but until April rolls around, go do yourself a favour and check out their new clip for 'Promised Land' below:
