SINGLE REVIEW: No Salvation (DEVOLVED)

SINGLE No Salvation // ARTIST Devolved

With a flurry of rasps and blistering drumwork, Devolved's brand new single No Salvation shows the Aussie tech-metal legends have not faltered in their ferocity in their newest incarnation.

Fronted by drum extraordinaire John Sankey, the latest chapter in the Devolved unfolds after Sankey's return to Australia following 15 years spent living in Los Angeles, as well as Sankey's recruitment of local heavyweights Simon Durrant (In:Extremis, Superheist) on vocals and bass, and Kris Marchant (Mazikeen, HackXWhore) on guitars.

Thrusting out enough blastbeats, death growls and pounding intensity to rattle your bones and replace your morning coffee jolt, Devolved's latest tune No Salvation hints at a stylistic shift back to the band's earlier savagery while also simultaneously trawling into new sonic waters and celebrating the 20th anniversary of Devolved's debut album Technologies in fitting fashion:

"Simmo and Kris are absolutely crushing it. I've work with a lot of metal's elite musicians over the years and these guys have the cops to keep up with the very best of them. Nothing is off limits and the material we are writing definitely showcases that. 2020 marks the 20th year of the band's debut album 'Technologies', so the time is right for new Devolved music. I will announce full details of the upcoming release soon!" - John Sankey, drums

Recorded and mixed at Black Mountain Sound Studio by the legendary ARIA-nominated producer DW Norton (Superheist, Abremelin, Alchemist, Day of Contempt), No Salvation is a ballistic sliver of some stellar Aussie tech-metal - and there's set to be even more fiery sonic delights to come as the group venture into the latter half of 2020 with more tunes tucked up their sleeves. Stay tuned!
