Sydney alt-rockers Grenade Jumper throw a punchy missile with their raucous and emphatic new single The Power You Flaunted that released last week.
Following on from the release of the fiery tune Heat Wave back in March, Grenade Jumper have been steadily fusing slightly darker brushes into their potent punk foundation of late, and their most recent track The Power You Flaunted continues the quartet's descent into bold yet meaningful sonic blasts.
Readily helmed by vocalist Bianca Davino and her powerhouse delivery, The Power You Flaunted certainly flaunts plenty of force and blazing intensity, with crashing riffage and pulsing beats reigning supreme beneath Davino's glimmerng light and chaotic shade.
"This song focuses on generational distrust, propelled by losing faith in the leaders — both political and within the arts world — who failed to take care of us like they promised. It’s about tearing away the facade that they exist behind, and outing them from their positions of power...The Power Your Flaunted culminates that sense of hurt and frustration, and was written in a flurry of reflection on the movement, as well as the general state of the world in early 2020. We’re very proud of this track, because more than anything, it showcases how we’ve developed artistically and as musicians over the last year. We wanted to make a loud statement with it, and I believe we achieved that.” - Power Grenade
Offering a glimpse into what lies in wait from the band's upcoming two-track What's Left When It All Falls Down (due out October 2nd), The Power You Flaunted is a potent and punchy groover that is certainly good for what ails you, whether it's rage at the injustices of the world or just the fact that you can't decide what to watch on Netflix after an hour of scrolling the menu. Either way, I dare you to sit still when listening to this spicy number.
