SINGLE REVIEW: The Way You Think (MUULES)

SINGLE The Way You Think // ARTIST Muules

Need some riffs capable of grating every block of cheddar lurking in your fridge? Say g'day to the latest track The Way You Think from Sunny Coast alt rockers Muules, and prepare for a dance punk revival.

Stripping down their usual grunge-laced tones to a core of minimalist steel wool instrumentation and hazy arrangements, Sunny Coast guitarless wonders Muules continue their foray into pushing boundaries with their unique brew of gritty rock with their latest track The Way You Think officially due out tomorrow.

Embracing the palpitating wiles of retro dance punk mixed with nostalgic grit and grunt, The Way You Think is perhaps the most au naturel Muules have appeared since they first started unfurling their sonic wares many years ago. Laden with razored basslines and damp percussion, this new ditty will lunge you back to the heady 90s with its bold and brash simplicity, complete with lilting vocals and a ghostly breakdown along for the ride.

"A LOT OF SWEAT, TEARS, LOVE, AND SOME OF NATH’S BLOOD WENT INTO MAKING THIS NEW TRACK" - MUULES

Mixed by Muules' very own Rhys Fox and mastered by Paul Blakey, The Way You Think also throws in some guest vocals courtesy of Jess Lean to close out the track. For anyone who loves a bit of gnarly bass, or just anyone who fancies a bit more grunge in their face; Muules have certainly got you covered with their distinctive flair on full display with The Way You Think. The track is officially due out tomorrow, but you can grab an early listen below! And if you're in Brisbane tomorrow night, you can catch the band christening their new tune, alongside Amps and Von Hazeler. More info below!
