Coming together via a shared love for System Of A Down, Violent Soho and Tool, Melbourne rockers Spare No Words stitch together gleeful apathy with chugging bedlam and nostalgic flavours. Part pub rock brawlers, part genre malcontents, the trio's passion for unholy amounts of beer and the occasional gig has culminated in 2020 with an eerily resonant debut album Kill The World; a 10-track outing conceived long before the crushing grip of COVID-19, but one that rather fittingly covers life's challenges and injustices in riotous and resounding fashion.

Traversing a gamut of sonic shades, Kill The World hurls you on a frenzied journey - from lashings of jaunty punk on opening track Thirst (complete with some epic 90s-era Gwen Stefani vocal stylings on the verses), the Spare No Words gents traipse from spicy hard rock to grungy odes and back again as they weave funk, chaos and snarl into a diverse and dynamic package that relishes in its roving genre mutations while continually maturing and growing on you with each passing track.

Whether grasping at Alice In Chains vibes (Punching Bag), modern Aussie alt rock (Your Eyes) or boisterous riffage (Nothing, Kill The World), Spare No Words spare no effort to flex their musical range on their debut LP, showcasing some sparkling takes on traditional rock with a mix of cheeky cynicism and heartfelt notions amid an impressive amount of noise for a three piece. And while there's an undeniable heaping of melancholic tones and themes throughout the album, there's a sense of catharsis as Spare No Words pay homage to their influences while intertwining their own style alongside their commentary on the current state of the world.
