This month, American rapper and genre alchemist nothing, nowhere. is currently down under for his Return Of The Reaper tour, along with special guests sace6 for their first ever Australian visit.

A fresh new face making large waves on the scene, American duo sace6 formed in 2024, with their innovative style marking a magnetic conduit between pop, R&B and metal. Hailing from America's Northeast, New York and New Jersey, sace6 connect their fans through a monochromatic romanticisation, wielding a raw and experimental style that has seen them in demand on stages across North America, Europe and the UK, with their touring history including runs with nothing, nowhere. as well as the likes of jxdn and Amira Elfeky. Previously performing at all three Vans Warped Tour 30th anniversary shows, sace6 are now gearing up to release new music in 2026.

The genre-blending duo, hailing from America's Northeast, will also be releasing their new album brutalist on May 8 via Sumerian Records, which means even more new music to choose from as they crafted their setlist for their debut Aussie shows. And just off the back of their first official performance on our shores in Brisbane last night, come spend a moment with sace6's very own Sace and Noah Thomas as they share some if their own favourite songs to play live (and potentially discover some of your own new favourites in the process!)

Sace: I feel like to play live, I think both of us say ego.

I would definitely say, covet. That has such a special feeling live, and I feel like everyone, if they haven't heard it before, they get kind of like, "What is this about to be? " It's very exciting and it's a good change of paste in a set, in a set list.

Noah: We’ve played covet Live for a minute.

Sace: We've been playing it live since last October. Because we hadn't put out music or really posted about anything, so we wanted to play two new songs, being ego and covet, first two singles off brutalist live. This way people knew what was coming and what better way to hear it first than hear it live. Ones that we're excited to play.

I think devotion is definitely such a special one because a lot of the crowds do know it and it's just such a cool moment because we have everybody crowd surf.

Noah: We've tried so hard to make devotion like the crowd surf song. I want it to be the point that I don't even got to say it. People just do it. Whoever's reading this, crowd surf during devotion, just go crazy. That's it. Save my voice.

Sace: Ones that we are looking forward to playing live. I think for me personally, I think perfidy (from brutalist) is going to be such a rollercoaster live just because of the way that the song flows about, way that it starts, way that it in the middle, the way that it ends. I think emotionally I'm just going to have so much fun being in that state of being while singing it. And I think me and Noah are going to have a lot of fun as well. Oh,

Noah: I think nepenthe (from brutalist) for me is going to be the most fun to play live.

Sace: Oh my God. Yeah, 100%.

So how many new songs from brutalist will you guys be playing?

Noah: It's going to be mostly brutalist.

Honestly, we found that playing these songs right before they're about to turn out is the best way to really gain attention on them. Because then if you want to hear it, you have to go to YouTube or you have to go to TikTok or something, and nobody's posting full videos of these songs, so it's just like a treat.

Sace: Yeah. And also we announced a headline tour. We announced the headline tour where we're not doing Australia, so we don't know when the next time Australia is going to hear brutalist, and we want to play as many as we can, give them that treatment that they deserve.

Noah: It's also a nice treat. I don't know. For me personally, I love Australia and we both have such massive respect for the scene and the listeners there that it's cool that they get that first treat.

Hearing all these new songs. Because what Sace’s saying, we're not going to be back for a minute to play these new songs. So why don't we give them the new shit that they're going to be listening to anyways so they can enjoy that.
