Australia - let's get LOUD! LOUD WOMEN, the international feminist music organisation founded in London UK, has announced the full lineups for the return of LOUD WOMEN FEST AUSTRALIA 2025. The two-city festival will take place 7 December at Crowbar (Gadigal/Sydney) and 14 December at The Bergy Bandroom (Naarm/Melbourne), showcasing the most powerful women-led and gender diverse punk, rock, indie and alternative acts from Australia and around the world.

LOUD WOMEN FEST is proudly non-profit, trans-inclusive, and built to counter male-dominated festival culture by platforming women, trans and nonbinary musicians. After a sold-out debut in 2024, the festival returns with an even bigger lineup, celebrating underground music, feminist resistance, and DIY community.

The 2025 festival includes international acts Bitter Tits (USA) and Vagina Dry (New Zealand), alongside LOUD WOMEN’s London-based house band I, DORIS (UK), who will be flying to Australia especially for the festival. I, DORIS features Cassie Fox, the founder of LOUD WOMEN and a key voice in the movement for gender equality in music. This will be the band's first Australian appearance.

LOUD WOMEN FEST AUSTRALIA is led by organisers Soph (from Melbourne band R.U.B) and Kate (from Sydney band Second Idol), two respected artists and community organisers committed to building a safer, more inclusive music scene.

Founder Cassie Fox (LOUD WOMEN UK) said: “Australia has one of the most exciting punk and alternative scenes in the world, and LOUD WOMEN FEST AUSTRALIA proves it. These lineups are explosive. We are here because equality will not happen by waiting for the mainstream music industry to change. We build our own stages, our own spaces, and our own future.”

Cultural significance: The Australian music scene is still heavily dominated by male artists. In 2024, just 2 of the 17 categories at the APRA awards were won by female artists (source: APRA Awards 2024).. Only 7% of this year’s triple-j Hottest 100 Songs are female acts (source: triple-j Hottest 100). Many Australian festivals continue to have lineups dominated by male artists, especially in headlining positions (source: AWMA).

Founded in 2015 in London, LOUD WOMEN is a global movement promoting women, queer, trans and gender-diverse musicians. The organisation has hosted hundreds of gigs and festivals in the UK, Europe and USA. Previous LOUD WOMEN alumni include Nova Twins, Lambrini Girls, Big Joanie, Dream Nails and Petrol Girls. LOUD WOMEN FEST AUSTRALIA launched in 2024 to a sold-out Melbourne crowd and returns in 2025 across two cities.
