INTERVIEW: David Freeland (LUNE)

Bearing the namesake of a figure formed by two intersecting arcs, Melbourne heavies LUNE forge together uncompromising sonic savagery with tinges of melodic beauty and djent into a unique but polished region of the metalcore world.

Coming together as an amalgamation of previous Aussie bands (most notably I, Valiance and Blind Oracle), LUNE may have have only formed just last year, but the group have already garnered themselves labels from "must see" to "next big thing", thanks largely in part to their relentless energy and ferocious technicality, as well as their dazzling ability to craft meaningful songwriting into the metalcore and deathcore tropes.

With the group now poised on the release of their debut EP Ghost, there's a simmering sense of suspense underlying the future of this powerhouse in-the-making as the group dexterously prove they have what it takes to transcend the underground and join the many luminaries in their genre peer-group on the world stage. But for the time being, all eyes are on Ghost and it's eruption this Friday June 12, and today we're chatting with LUNE guitarist David Freeland all things new music, live shows and creative inspiration. Audio interview below!
