Who says we can't have an awards show during the coronavirus mayhem? The show must go on, and the 2020 edition of the Gold Coast Music Awards will be kicking off this Thursday 30th April - and you can enjoy all the fun from the comfort of your very own living room! Via a virtual presentation premiering at 7pm this Thursday on Facebook, some of the special guests confirmed for the night include Tones and I, Amy Shark and Sophie Monk, as well as performances from some of the Goldy's best up-and-coming acts including: Casey Barnes, Eliza & The Delusionals, DVNA, Busby Marou, Hussy Hicks, Felicity Lawless and Harry J Hart.
Foregoing the usual beachfront fanfare, the 2020 Awards will still bringing an action-packed night celebrating the GC's creative clout. Announcing winners across 10 categories plus a heap of performances from some incredible locals, it may not be your usual awards show - but it's an excuse to wash your hair, bust out your best PJs or go all out and dress up for an amazing evening of ingenuity and celebration.
"The willingness of the artists and music industry at large to jump on board and make this video version of the Awards as awesome as possible has been really heartwarming. To move from a massive beachfront event to an online one that still has some wow factor has been a big challenge in these difficult circumstances, and thanks to a dedicated team and the generosity of Gold Coast artists and legends like Amy, Tones and Sophie, I believe we’ve done it!” - Chloe Papa, Gold Coast Music Awards director
Yet again proving itself as a musical hotspot, the Gold Coast will be ramping it up this Thursday to celebrate some of its finest. Who will take home one of the Skull Murphy trophies?? Set your reminder here and tune in this Thursday from 7pm!
FREE FOR ALL TO JOIN, WATCH THE AWARD-WINNING ACTION ON THURSDAY 30 APRIL AT 7PM ON THE GOLD COAST MUSIC AWARDS FACEBOOK PAGE.
