There's something simply gorgeous about enchanting indie poppers IVEY; with the upbeat whimsy of Boy & Bear and tinges of fellow alt-poppers San Cisco, this Gold Coast quintet have certainly come a long way since their early days as a garage band, seen most recently with their latest EP 'Gorgeous'.
But now that the EP has had a few weeks out in the world and with the group currently on an east coast run, The Soundcheck is stoked to exclusively share 5 facts you didn't know about the lovable lot from IVEY.
FIVE THINGS YOU DIDN'T KNOW ABOUT IVEY
Lachie and Matt are brothers and Dante has been their neighbour/friend since they were 6 when he dominated them in backyard football. Friends ever since.
When Millie joined the band we called ourselves The Fourth as she was the fourth member of the band. Lol creative and pretty metal... Luckily the name was taken so we changed our name to roman numerals “IV” which was also metal confusing so we landed on Ivey.
Millie is currently studying beauty and now the boys regularly get their eyebrows waxed for Millie’s “practice”.
Everyone in the band has pretty diverse taste so making decisions for singles, artwork, film clips and merch is the most frustrating time for us and usually results in huge arguments.
Matt has nerve damage in his knee from trying to slide down a stair rail on a night out. Now the outside of his knee is numb but when he rubs the inside of his knee he feels it on the outside
