After circling around some new music earlier this year, Melbourne prog powerhouse Circles have officially announced the release of their heavily anticipated new album 'The Last One' in late August, plus a belter of a new track to spice up your ears.
--
Renowned for their complex, compelling and brute force sonic tendencies, 2018 is certainly shaping up as one to remember for the Circles lads; with 'The Last One' marking their first release since 2013's 'Infinitas', the brand new release in late August will seamlessly lead into them joining UK metal juggernaut TesseracT on their mammoth Aussie tour in September, before traipsing off to Europe to join fellow Aussie prop trailblazers Caligula's Horse in October and November.
With the release this week of brand new single 'Breaker' and the previously unleashed 'Blueprints of a Great Escape, it's abundantly clear that when 'The Last One' finally drops we're in for some tasty bedlam searing with colossal riffs and potent grooves, grafted with guitarist-come-vocalist Ben Rechter's lush vocals.
Of the impending album, guitarist Ted Furuhashi offers up: "The Last One is definitely an album that we’re all proud of. For me personally, it’s the record I’ve always wanted to write. It came from a place of honesty and pure expression. After our first ever European tour with The Dillinger Escape Plan in 2013, I made a conscious decision to make music for myself and not write for expectation. Writing for "The Last One" started as soon as we got back from that tour and as you’d expect, we had songs that didn’t really sound like Circles at all, but we definitely didn’t want our back catalogue to define us or at least define what the next album will be, so we continued writing completely without boundaries. We’ve never been more solid as a group, both musically and personally, so to have an amazing team behind us in Season of Mist and Wild Thing Records, we’re finally feeling like we deserve to show the world who we really are and what we can offer."
Circles' new album 'The Last One' is available to pre-order now from iTunes, JB Hi-Fi and all good retailers - all available HERE.
