MUSIC NEWS: Fender Amps Up With Women In Music Awards Prize Offer



With the latest edition of the Australian Women In Music Awards set to kick off next week, the world's largest guitar maker, Fender, is offering a major prize package in conjunction with the event taking place n Brisbane next week.


The online competition is open to all, featuring a package valued at over $2,700 for an acoustic guitar and a bunch of epic accessories. To enter, simply follow the social channel @womeninmusicaus on Instagram, and tag a friend to go into the giveaway draw.


The highly anticipated Australian Women In Music Awards, aka AWMAs, and sold-out conference will take place in Brisbane next Tuesday 17 May and Wednesday 18 May, supported by the Queensland Government, and, for the first time, will also broadcast on ABC TV. You can also join in on the fun at home, with the even live streamed on Facebook.


The Fender prize pack will be drawn and announced online on Wednesday 18 May, the same day as the awards taking place at The Tivoli in Brisbane, with the pack up for grabs including: the Paramount Series Guitar, an Acoustic 100 Amp, Acoustic Preverb Pedal, Guitar Strap Cable and deluxe hard case suitable for a fan, a beginner or a seasoned pro.


A second giveaway will also include a Fender Electric Guitar prize pack worth over $4,700, which will go home with some lucky Queensland locals.


Fender have been championing the spirit of 'rock' since 1946, and have contributed to numerous music genres around the world, and are proud supporters of the Australian Women In Music Awards, saying in today's press release: "Fender Musical Instruments Corporation is honored to support the Australian Women In Music Awards and sponsor the 2022 Emerging Artist Award. After two years of disruption following the ongoing global pandemic, the AWMAs will offer a celebration of all genres and the contributions of women in every corner of the music industry, and will also feature a premiere performance of a new classical composition specially commissioned alongside performances from:

Emma Donovan &Kee àhn, Tina Arena, BARKAA, Dizzy Doolan, Sahara Beck, DJ Red Belly, Sandy Evans & Satsuki Odamura, Kween G & Lady Lash, Hot Brown Honey, Montaigne, Shakaya and Kaylah Truth.
