MUSIC NEWS: Melb duo Kate Alexander and Hana Brenecki gear up to hit some stages in NSW this week

IF YOU'RE BASED IN NSW, YOU'RE IN FOR A BONA FIDE TREAT THIS WEEK AS ETHEREAL DUO KATE ALEXANDER AND HANA BRENECKI HIT SYDNEY AND MAITLAND TO CELEBRATE THEIR DIVINE DEBUT ALBUM DON'T YOU HAVE BETTER THINGS TO DO.

Overflowing with dazzling harmonies and scintillating tinges of blues and soul, Melbourne pair Kate Alexander and Hana Brenecki strike a balance between compelling individuality and swoon-worthy collaboration as they dangle their powerful vocals across simmering textures. And whether conjuring cinematic pop (I Was Trying Not To Think Of You) or country-style yearning (Marigold), there's an undeniable sense of sonic magic woven throughout the duo's debut album, and one that would undoubtedly spark even more intimate alchemy in a live setting.

And as luck would have it, starting tomorrow fans in Sydney and Maitland can catch some of this stunning new album in action as the ladies hit the road to play alongside fellow singer-songwriters Mark Moldre and Ben Leece. Guaranteed to be some nights to remember from two astonishingly talented ladies (who also totally DIY their own artwork, posters and videos), go treat your soul to something truly special if you happen to be in town.
