Newcastle hardcore rockers Liberties have come a long way in a short space of time; from a self-described "crappy demo" in 2016 to sharing stages with Slaves, Miss Fortune, Awaken I Am and more, there's a whole lot to grasp onto with the cast-iron, rock-driven hardcore this quartet brings to the table, and they're kicking off 2019 by announcing a new EP in April - and releasing a brand new track last week!
With brand new single 'Crooked States', the Liberties legends hint at what may be to come from the announced EP 'Broken' due out on April 5 - and if the driving riffs, brawling vocals and tight, tight grooves popping and locking on 'Crooked States' are on the menu for the EP, sign us the hell up.
Of the new track, vocalist Ciaran Colgan says "(Crooked States)...is about our society - how the average person is told one thing while those in power are doing something completely opposite. I wanted to write something that shows what we have witnessed as a world economy over the last odd decade and ask the question, it this really what we are happy to let continue?".
While there's still a while to go before the new EP unleashes, you can grab a gritty fix of some Liberties magic below with the accompanying clip for 'Crooked States'. Plus! Pre-orders for the 'Broken' EP are live now HERE.
