Perth groove metal act Bayview Suspect have had a stellar year so far, first supporting the legendary Phil Anselmo & The Illegals alongside King Parrot at this year’s sold out Slayfest, as well as working on a brand new song 'Stay Away' which officially launched at Perth Monthly Metal Club Hornography last Friday. And to top it all off, the band have also announced a run of tour dates across Australia for their first interstate shows which will include Melbourne, Canberra, Newcastle and Sydney.
'Stay Away' is the first new material from the band since their second EP 'Survival Or Ruin' which dropped last September through Rockpit Records. Marking significant progression and evolution for the band as well as the debut of two of its most recent members, 'Stay Away' stands as an exciting new chapter for the band, as they explain: "We really wanted to put something out, showing the positive change and direction we are heading with our music. This song has a lot of new elements from all the instruments showing not only our progression as musicians, but as song writers. We believe that we are really starting to find our sound and this song really shows it. The song is about xenophobia and the turmoil between fear and acceptance.”
In support of the new song the band have announced their first national tour, taking the band interstate in July with shows in Melbourne, Canberra, Newcastle, Sydney and coming back home to Perth to round the tour off. The tour will see live performances of the new song as well as a selection of tracks from their most recent EP release 'Survival Or Ruin'.
