There's no ifs, ands or buts about it: Sydney machines RedHook are red hot, closing out the year burning up the main stage at Good Things Festival in Parramatta, unleashing a brand new music video and announcing their first full Aussie tour for 2019 alongside Hands Like Houses, Ocean Grove and Endless Heights.
For the countless who have witnessed the ferocity of RedHook in person, it's clear the future is ridiculously bright - and the past and present are just as electric, with the genre deviants making blistering waves in a very short space of time with their signature mix of rappin', rockin', poppin' post hardcore effortlessly slipping and sliding across rock and electronic realms (while setting fire to your speakers).
With the recent release of their fiery track 'Turn Up The Stereotype', the group have now also unveiled the visuals with a delightfully madcap adventure that literally goes up in flames that not only perfectly complements the song, but also aptly explores the group's own identity.
"It was a super fun way to use the cinematic RedHook universe to visually represent our real life experience of trying to figure out where the hell we fit in the music industry...Since we launched this project back in June, a lot of our brushes with the industry have involved people trying to pin us into some kind of genre box. And I guess this is our way of rejecting those boxes. By playing a fun game of dress-ups and blowing things up" - Emmy Mack, vocalist
Having already shared stages with the likes of Dream On Dreamer, The Getaway Plan and more, RedHook will continue their journey head-on when they take to the stage alongside Hands Like Houses, Ocean Grove and Endless Heights in February next year. But in the meantime, go wrap your eyes and ears around RedHook's brand new track, and get ready to hear more from this explosive group in 2019.
