The artist formerly known as Sam Spiegel, aka Sam I, is back in deliciously fine form, dropping a star-studded new album today with Random Shit From The Internet Era.

A revered music and film director as well as a prolific DJ and producer, Sam I (Sam Spiegel) is a unique creative powerhouse with works ranging from Converse and Levi's commercial scores to Grammy nominations and collabs alongside Kanye West and Maroon 5. And while creativity is undoubtedly in the blood (his brother is non-other than Spike Jonze), Sam I has struck sensational heights with his electronic wizardry on full and dynamic display with his brand new album Random Shit From The Internet Era which officially unleashed today.

Bringing together more stars than the meteor shower you told yourself you'd wake up for before hitting the snooze button, Random Shit From The Internet places Sam I at the heart of a contemporary rupture as he follows up his previous collaborative project N.A.S.A.'s 2009 release The Spirit of Apollo with a cleared sonic slate and bustling stylistic diversity. Bringing together a horde of artists including RZA, Andersoon Paak, Doja Cat and many, MANY more, Random Shit From The Internet Era perfectly lives up to its title as it sheds any notions of a concept album, instead bringing together electronic works that revel in eclectic merriment - and perhaps no better summation presents itself than the album's focus track Don't Give Up that brings together Sia, Busta Rhymes and Vic Mensa.

Balancing his trademark unexpected collab tendencies, Sam's dynamic arrangements mixed with the dazzling flow of Busta Rhymes, smooth vibes from of Vic Mensa and the familiar potency of Sia's vocals on Don't Give Up results in a snappy outing that eloquently toys with electronica, pop and hip hop in refreshing and engaging fashion.

“I usually love to work conceptually...call me old school, but I love making albums that have a theme or concept that carries you through the record. For instance, on N.A.S.A.’s ‘The Spirit of Apollo’ the theme was space and unity; creating together without geographical, religious, genre or ideological borders. ‘Random Shit from the Internet Era’ was a different process for me. This is an album comprised of songs which have been created in bits and pieces over many years, some literally over the last 15 years! I had these great songs floating around my brain, and I felt it was time to release them to the world, regardless of whether they fit into a cohesive conceptual album. For that reason, the album is comprised of lots of different feels and genres, disparate frames of mind from my journey through life.” - Sam Spiegel

Providing a true genre melting pot capable of enticing fans of all tastes and persuasions, Random Shit From The Internet Era is a defining and insightful voyage into Spiegel's creative brain, and a must for anyone looking to mingle with some flashy sonic flavours.
