MUSIC NEWS: UK rockers Snow Patrol return with new music and an Aussie tour round the corner!

With over 16 million global album sales, 1+ billion streams and a horde of award wins and nominations, it's safe to say the past 25 years haven't gone slowly for UK indie rockers Snow Patrol. But now poised on a quarter century anniversary, the Northern Irish/Scottish quintet have wasted no time ramping up celebrations, with a brand new track out last week, and a near-completely sold out Aussie tour on the very near horizon.

Forming in 1994 and officially cementing their Snow Patrol moniker in 1997, the group originally formed in Dundee, Scotland staunchly evolved since their debut 'Songs for Polarbears' in 1998. Fast forward to 2006 and their heaving power ballad 'Chasing Cars' became an inescapable anthem of the late 2000s as well as one of the biggest digital success stories during an especially volatile era in the music industry.

With the promise of even more new music to come this year, Snow Patrol certainly delighted fans with their brand new track 'Time Won't Go Slowly' unveiling last week. Coming off the back of 'Wildness', the group's 2018 album that came after seven years of sonic silence, 'Time Won't Go Slowly' finds Snow Patrol in a dreamy, gilded world; think ethereal pianos and finespun acoustic guitars beneath frontman Gary Lightbody's soothing vocals as he entices you into a fanciful stupor with lyrics like: "You are the answer to/Every question I've asked".

And unsurprisingly, this new material comes ahead not only of more new tunes from the Snow Patrol gents, but also ahead of some sold-out Aussie shows kicking off in early August, with the band going acoustic and intimate at some iconic Aussie venues. But whether you've snagged a ticket or not when Snow Patrol roll through a capital city near you next month, you can check out the brand new tune below, and for more Snow Patrol info head HERE.
