It's no mean feat to make a name for yourself as a band in the Northern Territory; if battling the elements isn't enough, you're also literally hundreds of kilometres away from the regular Aussie touring circuit. But one band who are ballistically repping Darwin's heavy music scene at home and beyond are none other than rockers Tapestry who last week announced their upcoming Autumn Tour 2019 and a documentary from their Darwin EP launch show in 2018.
With 2018 unveiling the release of Tapestry's EP 'Ghost of Me', as well as a tour around the country alongside Polaris and The Plot in You, the group's hometown EP launch marked a particularly significant moment for the band - spending three months planning the show, booking the supports, marketing and promoting the show, and on the day, building the stage, bumping in and doing all the sound and lighting themselves. It made the packed-out launch show even sweeter, as reflected by bassist Conor Askham: "To actually bring it back full to circle to our own hometown, and play a show for our friends and family, it was a really humbling experience."
And 2019 is set to be equally busy for the band, with their freshly announced 'Autumn Tour 2019' alongside mates Vacant Home and Whatever, Forever kicking off in late March.
