In the latest episode of the Destroy All Lines interview series A Peek Behind The Lines, The Soundcheck's Tiana Speter catches up with Make Them Suffer's Sean Harmanis while he's in the UK ahead of returning back down under for a massive regional Aussie run kicking off this June.
Following the prolific release of their self-titled album and their biggest headline shows to date in 2024, Make Them Suffer will embark on a massive 2025 regional Australian tour this June and July, set to bring their insatiable live show on an 18-date run joined by special guests Justice For The Damned and The Gloom In The Corner. Make Them Suffer will also be joined by an incredible array of openers throughout the regional tour, including Diesect, Harroway, Hate Complex, RUN and Freak Show at select shows.
Evolving from early deathcore leanings into more melodic territory via their 2012 debut full length Neverbloom, Make Them Suffer's eternal pursuit for innovation and creative exploration has propelled the group from local Perth favourites into stalwart heavy fixtures on the world stage. Fusing elements of melodic death metal, heavy metalcore, symphonic elements and beyond into their dynamic trademark sound over the years, 2024 saw the Make Them Suffer enter their most galvanised era to date, with their self-titled fifth album balancing lashings of melodic light and blistering shade, while also cementing the five-piece as one of the most influential and inventive acts in the scene.
Now with five studio albums in their wake, including 2012's Neverbloom, 2015's Old Souls, 2017's Worlds Apart and 2020’s How to Survive A Funeral, the latter debuting at #17 on the Australian Albums Charts, Make Them Suffer have gone on to amass millions of streams, perform sold out headline runs, and continue to astonish with their creative output and onstage fervor; all without ever sacrificing their magnetic sense of self against any hurdles along the way.
And ahead of this epic regional Australian tour starting tomorrow (with a bunch of sold out shows in the mix), join Tiana with Sean Harmanis chatting through raucous memories from an earlier Make Them Suffer regional tour (with special mention to Mackay), touring essentials, why regional touring is so important for down under bands and fans, and much more below!
