While this certainly isn't a definitive list of what's coming up, it's definitely enough to get you frothing for some live music shenanigans, from some overseas faves returning at long last to our shores, to some regional and epic locals back for more in 2023 - here's 8 x tours The Soundcheck is currently pumped for!

 

BABYMETAL


2023 will mark the first-ever headline tour for Japanese metal sensation BABYMETAL, hitting our shores this June as part of their World Tour 2023.


From becoming the first Japanese artist to headline at Wembley Arena in the UK back in 2016 to appearing at Good Things Festival in 2018 for their first Aussie performance, there's a reason this duo have millions of streams and almost one billion YouTube views. A theatrical sonic assault that tears down preconceived notions of metal, pop and beyond, BABYMETAL will definitely dish up some shows to remember this June.

NOTHING BUT THIEVES


It would be an understatement to say that UK alt-rockers Nothing But Thieves know how to dazzle a crowd, and their ongoing reciprocal love affair with Australia continues this April with the band officially heading our way for four special headline shows.


Off the back of a brand new tune, Welcome to the DCC, aka the bouncy introductory track to the group's fourth studio album Dead Club City due out later this year, the new NBT era is already shaping up to be a glistening doozy, and you seriously need to tick off a Nothing But Thieves live show in 2023, whether you've seen them before or not.

Marking their first national tour in eight years, 2023 finds Aussie alt rock heroes Kisschasy back doing what they do best - performing and charming crowds with their beloved and hallowed tunes.

SLEEP TOKEN


OK, this one may seem like a tease because it's entirely sold out - but with their new album on the way, there's plenty to be excited about as a Sleep Token fan in 2023, and their upcoming shows in April and May in Australia will undeniably be something special - and it def needs a mention as we head into the end of March.


The UK underground and anonymous entity known as Sleep Token will tick off their first Australian headline tour this year, and it's set to be evenings of divine intimacy, heart-rending melodics and searing, visceral arrangements. An otherworldly experience like no other, there's a reason why the band's live shows are dubbed as "worship". If you're fortunate to have a ticket to one of the five shows, you'll also undoubtedly cop some of the new tunes lying in wait on the band's new album Take Me Back To Eden, due out this May.
