It's been a fair few years now since Scottish rockers Biffy Clyro melted hearts with their ninth studio album The Myth of The Happily Ever After, and in 2025 the trio have returned ready to bust open a stunning new chapter as they gear up to release their new album Futique this September.

Ahead of the release of Futique, Biffy Clyro initially introduced their new era in the form of lead single A Little Love, which is still featuring on the Radio 1 A-List in the UK, and also featured in the group's Glastonbury and Rock 1's Big Weekend performances. But now, the group have ventured further into new terrain with their brand new single (and accompanying music video) Hunting Season.

A little punked-up around the egdes, Hunting Season flings rowdy energy with nods to Simon Neil's earlier vocal stylings, snarling and perfectly complementing the shifting hooks, prowling basslines and propulsive energy.

“Hunting Season is saying, ‘I don’t know if I can judge myself through the eyes of someone else.’ It's hard enough to know who you are and what matters to you, but if you're worrying too much about how other people are seeing you then you don't stand a chance. I feel like we're all judged so much by people in the outside world who don't know anything about us and that can be really scary.” - Simon Neil

It's this extremely resonant notion of blocking out external influences that ultimately folds into the broader themes at the core of Futique, playing on the realisation that our perceptions of memory have shifted during the digital era, it poses an existential thought: what are the things that we cherish now that we will miss in the future?

Recorded primarily during sessions at Berlin's hallowed Hansa Studios with producer Jonathan Gilmore, Futique will also feature as part of Biffy Clyro's recently announced 2026 UK, Ireland and Europe headline shows - and here's hoping us Aussies will be able to catch some of the magic live in person not long after Futique finally unfurls on September 26.
