SINGLE: Do Ya Wanna ARTIST: Jye Whiteman
Do you wanna kick off your week with a banger? Well, call off the search because Brissie electro folk wunderkid Jye Whiteman has you covered with his sparkling new tune 'Do Ya Wanna'.
With influences spanning Matt Corby, Jeff Buckley and Eminem, Jye is certainly no style wallflower, and this latest track is another stellar example of his knack for crafting seamless gems full of raptured rhythms and enthralling falsetto. 'Do Ya Wanna' finds Whiteman wearing his pounding heart of his sleeve, both lyrically and sonically exploring the intoxicating early days of a relationship beyond attraction and infatuation amidst throbbing beats and soaring delays - it's an uplifting voyage that calls up tinges of indie rock, funk and hip hop-esque flow, with some crystal clear production sealing the deal.
After releasing his debut EP 'Distance' in 2015, Whiteman has wasted no time getting his tunes on the road, having already graced the stage alongside acts including Jose Gonzalez, The Rubens and more recently his mate and fellow artist Lyall Moloney - and now he's primed to set 2018 on fire with more announcements and music on the horizon in the next little bit. In the meantime, go check out 'Do Ya Wanna' and a whole lot more below:
